Welcome to the Independence Live archive of livestreams. We are a collective of citizen livestreamers, mostly based in Scotland, founded with the objective of producing live video at events, which the mainstream media will not cover. We have livestreamed over 1500 events since November 2013 and all for FREE. This is an archive of live videos produced mainly on the livestream.com platform between 2013 and 2021. Our success and continued growth is down to the dedication of our volunteers and the support of our viewers. We continue to cover political, social and cultural events and news stories in Scotland and further afield.

Views expressed on our broadcasts do not necessarily reflect the views of the Independence Live collective nor should our coverage of any event, individual or organisation be taken as an endorsement.

SELF-DETERMINATION: a new dance solo work The first choreographic work streamed live by Independence Live. Dance artist Ruth Mills explores the arena of self agency through the eyes of a woman facing marriage on the day after Scotland's independence referendum.

This is a new piece created by dance artist Ruth Mills called "SELF-DETERMINATION" and the first choreographic work that will be livestreamed by Independence Live. Quoting from Ruth's website: "Lying there, her cold, curled limbs delaying the shiver of the crisp, Scottish September morning, she recalls something her Granny said. After Grandpa died, Granny pared her sitting room down to one of everything. A chair, a little table, one cup, one plate... "It isn't good to be too dependent in life, there is far more happiness and contentedness in independence, don't rely too much on anyone else." Ruth explores the arena of self agency through the eyes of a woman facing marriage on the day after Scotland's independence referendum. From hope through despair to devision and restoration. She was on the fence, then it broke beneath her. A new musical score by Gerry Campbell, deftly weaves sweet and spikey musical motifs with spoken word and live soundscape". The performance takes place in Cottiers Theatre, 93-95 Hyndland St, Glasgow G11 5PU, United Kingdom

The Frack Stops Here! 2 Anti-fracking demonstration live from Preston in Lancashire

On the first day (and on subsequent days), concerned communities from around the UK will descend upon Lancashire County Hall in Preston for a peaceful show of solidarity and resistance. This is a huge deal that has implications for the entirety of the UK. It's also a great chance to showcase the strength and solidarity of the of the UK anti-fracking movement by standing with the people of Lancashire! The great team behind Talk Fracking & Climate Revolution (including the determined and lovely Vivienne Westwood) will also be joining us along with so many from the over 300 anti-fracking groups across the UK... this has never been more necessary. A rally and speeches organised by our friends at Friends of the Earth England, Wales and Northern Ireland will take place 5-7pm on the first day.

End Austerity Now - London National Demonstration Assemble 12pm, Bank of England (Queen Victoria St) City of London. March to Parliament Square. Organised by The People's

With the Tories going it alone in government we know exactly what to expect. More nasty, destructive cuts to the things ordinary people care about- the NHS, the welfare state, education and public services. We'll be assembling the demonstration in the heart of the City of London right on the doorstep of the very people who created the crisis in the first place, the banks and their friends in Westminster. We demand that the bankers and elite should pay for the crisis and not the vast majority who had nothing to do with it. Now is the time to get organizing, to mobilize our communities, to prepare transport and spread the word. We need to do all that we can to make this demonstration bigger and bolder than ever we have done before.

Scotland United Against Austerity A show of opposition to the Tory government in George Square (Glasgow), organised by the Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) to coincide with the Peoples' Assembly event being held in London on the same day.

As austerity and attacks on trade union rights are ramped up, it's vital that the entire anti-austerity movement in Scotland comes together in a show of opposition to the Tory government. To coincide with the Peoples' Assembly event being held in London on the same day, the STUC is throwing its weight behind this major event which will underline the widespread disgust at Tory plans to embed and deepen austerity, targeting the most vulnerable. The STUC expects that this event will be co-sponsored by a range of organisations involved in the Peoples' Assembly including major trade unions, the Radical Independence Campaign, Labour Party Campaign for Socialism, the SNP Trade Union Group, the Communist Party and anti-racist grouping Hope not Hate. Let's make Saturday 20 June a truly historic event.

Hope Over Fear are organizing this 2015 event to coincide with the anniversary of the referendum and to make a clear statement that our journey to full Independence for our nation continues. Our First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon has stated clearly that it will be the people of Scotland who will determine if and when there is an #indyref2. Lets fill Freedom Square and the surrounding streets of Glasgow on September 19th to make our voices heard. 2018 is an ideal year for #indyref2 as it is clear in terms of elections north and south of the border. (2016 Scottish parliament, 2017 Scottish council, 2019 English council and 2020 General election.) Join us on the Square with the message, #Indyref2 2018.

HOPE OVER FEAR: SEIZE THE DAY RALLY George Square, Glasgow. Lots of great speakers including Mark McGowan, The Artist Taxi Driver plus great music...

The Hope Over Fear campaign will not shirk its responsibilities. On May 7th 2015 we have a unique opportunity in Scotland to wipe out the blue, yellow and red Tories in one fell swoop. We can electorally punish those who lined up with the billionaires and millionaires to lie, deceive and bully our nation into submission. We are not too small, too poor or too scared to move forward into a new and better world and by uniting the pro-Scotland and anti-Establishment vote in May 2015 we can realise our dreams. Bring the family and enjoy another great day out while listening to the speakers from all political backgrounds and on the importance of using your vote wisely at the general election. There will also be many amazingly talented artists and musicians for you to enjoy on the day. In the words of Gerry Cinnamon's inspiring anthem of our movement, "Hope Over Fear, Carpe Diem". Let’s seize the day in 2015. NOTE: Mark McGowan, The Artist Taxi Driver will be one of the speakers :) FACEBOOK EVENT: https://www.facebook.com/events/401561463337441/

BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 Around 1:30 - 3:30pm BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 - The People's Voice!

BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 - The People's Voice! Sunday, June 29 at 1:30pm - 3:30pm BBC Scotland Studios, Pacific Quay G51 1 Glasgow, United Kingdom This is a protest against bias from the self-proclaimed “impartial” BBC. The most important issue we need to highlight is the repeated omission of relevant facts, information & answers that has kept Scotland in the dark about the real independence debate. The BBC’s coverage is ruining the run up to the biggest decision in our history. People are suitably sickened by the BBC & other mainstream media and their one sided conveyor belt of scare stories portrayed against our economic prospects, EU membership and the currency of an independent Scotland. Sometimes the bias is not in what they do cover but what they don't cover in their news & current affairs programmes. Specific examples of bias that concerns us are as follows: Make up of Question Time panels. Irish & Luxembourg EU ministers views misrepresented. UKIP promotion during EU elections. University of the West of Scotland report on bias on evening news programmes (BBC & STV) University of the West of Scotland report on bias on Radio Scotland Good Morning Scotland show The BBC's membership of the CBI which opposes independence and even tried to become an official member of the no campaign until a U turn after a mass cancellation of membership by Scottish companies. Different styles of questioning for Yes/No including more frequent interruptions from interviewers. The list goes on… Let's keep up the pressure on the old BBC and arrange their next outing as a massive anti-bias operation! Bring your saltires, banners, balloons, friends, family and loud voices. Make it a day to remember! Everyone is welcome from both sides of the debate. Groups that wish to protest about other instances of BBC bias unrelated to the independence debate are also more than welcome to attend.
