Scottish Independence Convention Presents The Reassembly Elaine C Smith will be hosting the many guests from across the country and the movement... and we will then be able to get down to some serious discussion about the way ahead...

Exactly two years on from the referendum, The Scottish Independence Convention are having a social event for all interested Indy groups to launch the next phase... to bring us all together, encourage dialogue, listen to some speeches, poetry, comedy and enjoy some music. We need all that energy, artistic endeavour, hard work and good old political discussion to get started again ( though it has never really gone away) and we need to establish a gathering place for all the groups, individuals, artists and ideas that made the Yes movement so vital in the journey towards self determination and Independence. Elaine C Smith will be hosting the many guests from across the country and the movement... and we will then be able to get down to some serious discussion about the way ahead.

The YES Movement A non party afiliated rally for Scottish Independence

The Yes Movement Rally on the 18th of September 2016, this is being held at Glasgow Green from 12pm until 8pm. This is going to be a day to remember. Why come? Why Volunteer? I would like to tell thee. Have any of you ever felt like you were here, to do something great with your life? Well you are and this is why we are all here. We are here to change the world. It is no easy task, but to us it is clear that the task is ours. That is why they called us the Bravest in all the stories. We will show the world there is another way to live, that social and cultural change is inevitable and that a new way of doing things is being birthed. A great human being once said 'Be the change you wish to see in the world'. For too long we have been realising that the entire system is corrupt. We have waited for those in power to change things, For someone to stand up and do what's right. None of them have, not really. We are creating this Movement together. As Humanity we can free ourselves from this system that none of us agreed to when we were born here, by taking our power back and in doing that, we show others how to free themselves from the Elitist system. To put it bluntly, the days of working to pay bills and die are over. We want more for ourselves and the generations to come. We stand for Equality, Contributing and Pioneering our own future. There are new way's to do things now and we all know that, we must venture into the unknown and discover 'HOW?' together. Please email theyesrally@gmail.com. Your expertise as a wonderful human being is required if you are a First Aider, Stage Hand, Steward, Chaperone or you would like to set up a stall for the day. Please also feel free to contact us if you have any suggestions/ ideas, or if you would like to help us in anyway. All contributions are most welcomed. The system we live under is broken, we're not fixing it. We want to create a new one. Go bravely friends. We are the change bringers. Please Share this message, We look forward to hearing from you.

Stand Up To Racism Scottish Conference a national conference bringing together speakers, organisations and other activists to discuss how we can tackle the rise of Islamophobia, racism, anti-semitism and how we defend civil liberties

A racist offensive is sweeping Europe, with governments and the right-wing media using migrants, refugees and Muslims as scapegoats for an economic crisis and wars they did not create. The racist tide will only be driven back by anti- racists standing up and confronting it. From Germany to Greece to the USA, people who want a society free from racism are saying no more. People are taking to the streets in large numbers to oppose racism, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism and to say migrants and refugees are welcome here. The EU Referendum campaign unleashed some of the most heinous racism and far-right nationalism we have seen in generations. Both sides used dehumanising language about refugees, and migrants became the number one scapegoat for falls in living standards, we are now witnessing a horrific increase in violent hate crimes. Exactly the same racist arguments were used against Jews, Irish, African, Caribbean, Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi communities. The Tories will use Brexit to whip up yet more anti-immigrant racism and accelerate their austerity policies and attacks on living standards. However people voted in the referendum, we now need to unite and take to the streets to demand an end to austerity policies, to stand up to anti-immigrant racism and show our solidarity with refugees and migrants. On 19th March 2016 over 20,000 people from across Britain took to the streets in Glasgow, London and Cardiff to say Refugees are Welcome Here and mark UN anti-racism day. Students and trade unionists, people of all faiths and none, migrants, musicians, teachers, pensioners and parents, took to the streets to make a defiant stand against racism. Together we showed unity in the face of racism. We will be back next year for another huge demonstration against all forms of racism. Unity is our strength so we cannot let racism divide us. We are the majority and we will stand up to racism.

Hope Over Fear ‎We'll be coming Rally This will be a well organised family friendly event with speakers, performers and entertainment for all to enjoy.

As promised, at our previous rally in "Freedom Square, Hope over Fear are organising this event to, once again mark the anniversary of the 2014 Scottish independence referendum and more importantly, send a clear message to our First minister that "We're Still Yes," our numbers are growing and we're' ready for #indyref2 whenever it is called. We understand that Nicola has a very precarious road to navigate, avoiding the various pitfalls set by the establishment and their lackeys in the MSM, before setting a date for #indyref2 but we know it is coming. Despite the attacks and smears from the Msm and their lackeys "We'll be Coming" and aiming to build on our previous, hugeley successful events in order to let our First minister know that the grassroots are ready, the seeds of Independence are growing stronger and in the words of the Graham Brown Band "the passion for freedom in our eyes" is burning brighter than before. Wee Ginger Dug with Paul Kavanagh live from the Yes Cafe in Edinburgh South

Having lived in Elx, Spain Paul returned to Scotland early in 2013 along with the Wee Ginger Dug. With other commitments making demands on his time he felt that this was the most effective contribution he could make and it has turned out to be one of the real ongoing success stories since 2014. Paul also writes for The National regularly. Hs has a very individual style in the political spectrum of making his point with more than a smidgeon of humour thrown in. A couple of his recent articles are Kezia's magic cloak of invisibility and The broad shoulders of a headless chicken .

Eric Joyce Talk at Yes Cafe The Yes Cafe welcomes Eric Joyce, former Labour MP and 2014 prominent 'NO' campaigner

The Yes Cafe welcomes Eric Joyce, former Labour MP and 2014 prominent 'NO' campaigner to speak. Recently on his blog, From No To Yes, Eric has publicly declared his support for a YES vote in #indtref2. His change in mind has prompted some media interest but I thought it best to hear from the man himslef. Eric has had a full and colourful career reaching Major in the army, success in academia, and as Personal Private Secretary to WM Ministers and served on the Commission for Racial Equality before becomning MP for Falkirk West in his own right. Equally, he has courted media publicity for incidents that would not show him in a good light though for one I believe it's not my/our place to judge. If we are to win #indyref2 we must engage with the NO voters who re enquisitive. A point of difference this time around will be to hear from those who have changed opinion since 2014 and Eric is early out the blocks on that front post Brexit.

Hope Over Fear are organizing this 2015 event to coincide with the anniversary of the referendum and to make a clear statement that our journey to full Independence for our nation continues. Our First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon has stated clearly that it will be the people of Scotland who will determine if and when there is an #indyref2. Lets fill Freedom Square and the surrounding streets of Glasgow on September 19th to make our voices heard. 2018 is an ideal year for #indyref2 as it is clear in terms of elections north and south of the border. (2016 Scottish parliament, 2017 Scottish council, 2019 English council and 2020 General election.) Join us on the Square with the message, #Indyref2 2018.

HOPE OVER FEAR: SEIZE THE DAY RALLY George Square, Glasgow. Lots of great speakers including Mark McGowan, The Artist Taxi Driver plus great music...

The Hope Over Fear campaign will not shirk its responsibilities. On May 7th 2015 we have a unique opportunity in Scotland to wipe out the blue, yellow and red Tories in one fell swoop. We can electorally punish those who lined up with the billionaires and millionaires to lie, deceive and bully our nation into submission. We are not too small, too poor or too scared to move forward into a new and better world and by uniting the pro-Scotland and anti-Establishment vote in May 2015 we can realise our dreams. Bring the family and enjoy another great day out while listening to the speakers from all political backgrounds and on the importance of using your vote wisely at the general election. There will also be many amazingly talented artists and musicians for you to enjoy on the day. In the words of Gerry Cinnamon's inspiring anthem of our movement, "Hope Over Fear, Carpe Diem". BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 Around 1:30 - 3:30pm BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 - The People's Voice!

BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 - The People's Voice! Sunday, June 29 at 1:30pm - 3:30pm BBC Scotland Studios, Pacific Quay G51 1 Glasgow, United Kingdom This is a protest against bias from the self-proclaimed “impartial” BBC. The most important issue we need to highlight is the repeated omission of relevant facts, information & answers that has kept Scotland in the dark about the real independence debate. The BBC’s coverage is ruining the run up to the biggest decision in our history. People are suitably sickened by the BBC & other mainstream media and their one sided conveyor belt of scare stories portrayed against our economic prospects, EU membership and the currency of an independent Scotland. Sometimes the bias is not in what they do cover but what they don't cover in their news & current affairs programmes. Specific examples of bias that concerns us are as follows: Make up of Question Time panels. Irish & Luxembourg EU ministers views misrepresented. UKIP promotion during EU elections. University of the West of Scotland report on bias on evening news programmes (BBC & STV) University of the West of Scotland report on bias on Radio Scotland Good Morning Scotland show The BBC's membership of the CBI which opposes independence and even tried to become an official member of the no campaign until a U turn after a mass cancellation of membership by Scottish companies. Different styles of questioning for Yes/No including more frequent interruptions from interviewers. The list goes on… Let's keep up the pressure on the old BBC and arrange their next outing as a massive anti-bias operation! Bring your saltires, banners, balloons, friends, family and loud voices. Make it a day to remember! Everyone is welcome from both sides of the debate. Groups that wish to protest about other instances of BBC bias unrelated to the independence debate are also more than welcome to attend.
