Welcome to the Independence Live archive of livestreams. We are a collective of citizen livestreamers, mostly based in Scotland, founded with the objective of producing live video at events, which the mainstream media will not cover. We have livestreamed over 1500 events since November 2013 and all for FREE. This is an archive of live videos produced mainly on the livestream.com platform between 2013 and 2021. Our success and continued growth is down to the dedication of our volunteers and the support of our viewers. We continue to cover political, social and cultural events and news stories in Scotland and further afield.

Views expressed on our broadcasts do not necessarily reflect the views of the Independence Live collective nor should our coverage of any event, individual or organisation be taken as an endorsement.

Mr Fishing Rov FishingROV a project to develop a new sustainable fishing method.

FishingROV a project to develop a new sustainable fishing method. Selectively fishing for the target species, eliminating by-catch while minimizing damage to the seabed. It’s capable of individually catching scallops from the sea bed; reducing our dependence on scallop dredging and avoiding the damage to the sea bed associated with dredging. Catches other food species without any by-catch, dredge or trawl damage. Brings moreawareness to the sea floor and kindles an appreciation for a place few people visit. Provides a sustainable and distributed employment for local costal workers. I also hope it will be useful in controlling the Lion Fish population explosion currently unbalancing the ecosystems of Bermuda and the east coast of America. It could also potentially fish in waters too deep to be easily accessed by divers 100m+. I love the idea that anyone could build a FishingROV and try to develop the design to make self build easier. The idea is to use off the shelf components as much as possible and think of where 3D printing and other low cost CAM could be employed to maintain affordability. The project will be Open Source, with all plans, code, ideas and research available for free. Also I would like to invite feedback/ideas from anyone with an interest, to speed the development and track implemented ideas.

Nurturing Nature a Nordic Horizons event comparing land use in Scotland and Norway

South West Norway and Highland Scotland are closely similar in climate, geology and landforms; but very different in land cover, human population and land use. SW Norway is rapidly reforesting but Scotland is not. Rural areas are more heavily populated. Is that because southwest Norway is so very different in the basic conditions of life – or because land use history differs profoundly on either side of the North Sea? Duncan Halley (a Scot who has lived and worked in Norway for 20 years) describes how moorland in Norway has transformed to farmland and woodland and makes comparisons with land in the Scottish Highlands. His observations are timely. The Land Reform Bill is continuing its progress through the Scottish Parliament amidst assertions that much of the land in the Scottish Highlands and Borders is fit only for use by sporting estates. Could the appearance and productivity of Scottish land more closely resemble its Nordic cousin if land use here was changed? Book free seats on Eventbrite - tickets are free but limited in number - so please book early. There will be a short TED style video of Duncan’s presentation available afterwards. General info and updates on speakers will be posted on our Facebook page and website www.nordichorizons.org. Please keep checking there rather than sending individual emails – NH is a small, self-administering, volunteer-based group with a rather ambitious list of new meetings to arrange.

Join the worldwide movement marching for a better future. A low carbon society will create green jobs, improve our transport and food systems and protect our land, air and water. Scotland needs to show its colours in Paris and beyond with strong action on climate change. Wear your brightest colours as Scotland marches on this weekend of global action. Everyone is encouraged to attend so please invite your friends, families and followers. The march is organised by Stop Climate Chaos Scotland (SCCS), a diverse coalition of organisations in Scotland campaigning together on climate change. Tony Rooke: 'Incontrovertible' The Man Who Took The BBC Licence to Court and Won

In February 2013 documentary maker Tony Rooke took the licence fee to court under Article 3, Section 15 of the Terrorism Act 2000 on the basis that the BBC were complicit in the 9/11 cover-up and had deliberately misled the public in their broadcasting. His most recent documentary 'Incontrovertible' follows his challenge through the legal system of what he describes as 'a crime' by the BBC. Tony was given the opportunity to demonstrate to the judge that the BBC had quite deliberately lied to the British public about the events of that day, in particular their 'Conspiracy Files' programme. The fact that the BBC had foreknowledge and had reported on the collapse of WTC7 20 minutes before it happened formed the basis for his case that the licence was not appropriate. Tony was not fined and was allowed to walk away on a conditional discharge. killingauntiefilms.co.uk

Lefty Film Club Q&A with Dr Lee Salter, the director of the film The Fourth Estate

Lefty Film Club in association with Radical Film Network presents Fourth Estate, followed by a Q&A session with director, Lee Salter. The political discussion undertakenin this Q&A session will belivestreamed. Produced in the UK on a zero-budget, the filmmakers spent two years contacting and interviewing journalists, organisers and critics of the corrupt industrial practices highlighted by, but not limited to, the Leveson Inquiry in 2011. This opportunity for serious consideration of the true, entrenched causes and effects of the UK’s inadequate media must not go unexplored, and the recent press scandals must not be framed in terms of the “bad apple” soundbites we’re so often fed. The Fourth Estate examines the people and practices of the media industries. Illuminating not only specific incidences of corruption by press groups, but how the wider business as a whole, including the film and entertainment industries, has a huge amount to answer for in the state of the political economy of the west.

Hope Over Fear are organizing this 2015 event to coincide with the anniversary of the referendum and to make a clear statement that our journey to full Independence for our nation continues. Our First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon has stated clearly that it will be the people of Scotland who will determine if and when there is an #indyref2. Lets fill Freedom Square and the surrounding streets of Glasgow on September 19th to make our voices heard. 2018 is an ideal year for #indyref2 as it is clear in terms of elections north and south of the border. (2016 Scottish parliament, 2017 Scottish council, 2019 English council and 2020 General election.) Join us on the Square with the message, #Indyref2 2018.

HOPE OVER FEAR: SEIZE THE DAY RALLY George Square, Glasgow. Lots of great speakers including Mark McGowan, The Artist Taxi Driver plus great music...

The Hope Over Fear campaign will not shirk its responsibilities. On May 7th 2015 we have a unique opportunity in Scotland to wipe out the blue, yellow and red Tories in one fell swoop. We can electorally punish those who lined up with the billionaires and millionaires to lie, deceive and bully our nation into submission. We are not too small, too poor or too scared to move forward into a new and better world and by uniting the pro-Scotland and anti-Establishment vote in May 2015 we can realise our dreams. Bring the family and enjoy another great day out while listening to the speakers from all political backgrounds and on the importance of using your vote wisely at the general election. There will also be many amazingly talented artists and musicians for you to enjoy on the day. In the words of Gerry Cinnamon's inspiring anthem of our movement, "Hope Over Fear, Carpe Diem". Let’s seize the day in 2015. NOTE: Mark McGowan, The Artist Taxi Driver will be one of the speakers :) FACEBOOK EVENT: https://www.facebook.com/events/401561463337441/

BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 Around 1:30 - 3:30pm BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 - The People's Voice!

BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 - The People's Voice! Sunday, June 29 at 1:30pm - 3:30pm BBC Scotland Studios, Pacific Quay G51 1 Glasgow, United Kingdom This is a protest against bias from the self-proclaimed “impartial” BBC. The most important issue we need to highlight is the repeated omission of relevant facts, information & answers that has kept Scotland in the dark about the real independence debate. The BBC’s coverage is ruining the run up to the biggest decision in our history. People are suitably sickened by the BBC & other mainstream media and their one sided conveyor belt of scare stories portrayed against our economic prospects, EU membership and the currency of an independent Scotland. Sometimes the bias is not in what they do cover but what they don't cover in their news & current affairs programmes. Specific examples of bias that concerns us are as follows: Make up of Question Time panels. Irish & Luxembourg EU ministers views misrepresented. UKIP promotion during EU elections. University of the West of Scotland report on bias on evening news programmes (BBC & STV) University of the West of Scotland report on bias on Radio Scotland Good Morning Scotland show The BBC's membership of the CBI which opposes independence and even tried to become an official member of the no campaign until a U turn after a mass cancellation of membership by Scottish companies. Different styles of questioning for Yes/No including more frequent interruptions from interviewers. The list goes on… Let's keep up the pressure on the old BBC and arrange their next outing as a massive anti-bias operation! Bring your saltires, banners, balloons, friends, family and loud voices. Make it a day to remember! Everyone is welcome from both sides of the debate. Groups that wish to protest about other instances of BBC bias unrelated to the independence debate are also more than welcome to attend.
