RESCHEDULED - Gearoid O'Colmain Interview Paris Based Author and Journalist

In amongst a mainstream media narrative that is taking heavy political steering to ramp up hatred of the ‘other’ and to stimulate consensus for pre-planned military action, a lone voice piped up on Russia Today to put a great deal of the confusion into informed context. Gearoid O’Colmain is an independent political analyst from Cork, Ireland and is based in Paris. You can follow him on Twitter @broadfordsoviet.

About... The Scottish Independence Convention is a Cross-Party/no party group whose purpose is to promote Scottish Independence and create a space of co-operation outside the party boundaries. Independence will enable the people of Scotland to build a successful society based on our own values and priorities. All we are asking is the right to take our decisions together as a nation.. A genuine Scottish democracy would mean that we would make our choices and accept our responsibilities as other countries do. Dr Alister Hamilton - Brexit, Oil and the World Economy Dr Hamilton:The application of engineering analysis allows numerical data relating to the status of the global oil production system to be derived for historical and future production. This reveals that conventional oil is no longer the rich source

"In this talk we shall briefly explore the parallels between the UK and “Arab Spring” countries with regard to indigenous primary energy supply dynamics, to show why the UK's vote to leave the European Union might be considered “The English Spring”. We shall show that the application of engineering analysis allows numerical data relating to the status of the global oil production system to be derived for historical and future production. This reveals that conventional oil is no longer the rich source of energy it once was, due to its inevitable depletion. While not apparent using economic analysis, the application of engineering techniques quantifies this process clearly, precisely and verifiably. The entropic decay of the oil production system affects both the price of oil, which will be range limited with a dramatically reducing maximum price, and economic growth rates throughout the world. The use of oil has historically boosted economic growth. We have analysis to show that by 2020 this will no longer be the case and that by 2030, the average barrel of oil will no longer act as an energy source. As a result of this process, production will cease. The world is about to receive an immense energy shock. It is essential that policy makers understand this issue in order to mitigate impact. This presentation will provide an executive briefing of the key issues."

Bare Facts: Land Reform Andy Wightman and photographer and filmmaker Chris Leslie discuss the implications of land reform in Scotland. An evening of music and political debate; hosted by the fabulous Viv Gee. Scots Singer of the Year, Siobhan Miller & more...

The Bare Facts October event will see land reform author and campaigner, Andy Wightman and photographer and filmmaker Chris Leslie discuss the implications of land reform in Scotland. An evening of music and political debate; hosted by the fabulous Viv Gee. Scotland has the most concentrated land ownership in the developed world. Half of Scotland’s private land is owned by just 432 owners. Yet, land reform is not simply a rural issue. Over 26,000 acres of urban Scotland lies derelict. And over 750,000 acres is registered in overseas tax havens. Houses are increasingly unaffordable for young people. Land reform concerns us all. With music from Scots Singer of the Year, Siobhan Miller and the eclectic fun loving, League of Highland Gentlemen, this is a night not to be missed! Door open at 6.30pm. Tickets £5 (+booking fee) at CCA Box Office. Hope Over Fear are organizing this 2015 event to coincide with the anniversary of the referendum and to make a clear statement that our journey to full Independence for our nation continues. Our First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon has stated clearly that it will be the people of Scotland who will determine if and when there is an #indyref2. Lets fill Freedom Square and the surrounding streets of Glasgow on September 19th to make our voices heard. 2018 is an ideal year for #indyref2 as it is clear in terms of elections north and south of the border. (2016 Scottish parliament, 2017 Scottish council, 2019 English council and 2020 General election.) Join us on the Square with the message, #Indyref2 2018.

HOPE OVER FEAR: SEIZE THE DAY RALLY George Square, Glasgow. Lots of great speakers including Mark McGowan, The Artist Taxi Driver plus great music...

The Hope Over Fear campaign will not shirk its responsibilities. On May 7th 2015 we have a unique opportunity in Scotland to wipe out the blue, yellow and red Tories in one fell swoop. We can electorally punish those who lined up with the billionaires and millionaires to lie, deceive and bully our nation into submission. We are not too small, too poor or too scared to move forward into a new and better world and by uniting the pro-Scotland and anti-Establishment vote in May 2015 we can realise our dreams. Bring the family and enjoy another great day out while listening to the speakers from all political backgrounds and on the importance of using your vote wisely at the general election. There will also be many amazingly talented artists and musicians for you to enjoy on the day. In the words of Gerry Cinnamon's inspiring anthem of our movement, "Hope Over Fear, Carpe Diem". Let’s seize the day in 2015. NOTE: Mark McGowan, The Artist Taxi Driver will be one of the speakers :) FACEBOOK EVENT: https://www.facebook.com/events/401561463337441/

BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 Around 1:30 - 3:30pm BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 - The People's Voice!

BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 - The People's Voice! Sunday, June 29 at 1:30pm - 3:30pm BBC Scotland Studios, Pacific Quay G51 1 Glasgow, United Kingdom This is a protest against bias from the self-proclaimed “impartial” BBC. The most important issue we need to highlight is the repeated omission of relevant facts, information & answers that has kept Scotland in the dark about the real independence debate. The BBC’s coverage is ruining the run up to the biggest decision in our history. People are suitably sickened by the BBC & other mainstream media and their one sided conveyor belt of scare stories portrayed against our economic prospects, EU membership and the currency of an independent Scotland. Sometimes the bias is not in what they do cover but what they don't cover in their news & current affairs programmes. Specific examples of bias that concerns us are as follows: Make up of Question Time panels. Irish & Luxembourg EU ministers views misrepresented. UKIP promotion during EU elections. University of the West of Scotland report on bias on evening news programmes (BBC & STV) University of the West of Scotland report on bias on Radio Scotland Good Morning Scotland show The BBC's membership of the CBI which opposes independence and even tried to become an official member of the no campaign until a U turn after a mass cancellation of membership by Scottish companies. Different styles of questioning for Yes/No including more frequent interruptions from interviewers. The list goes on… Let's keep up the pressure on the old BBC and arrange their next outing as a massive anti-bias operation! Bring your saltires, banners, balloons, friends, family and loud voices. Make it a day to remember! Everyone is welcome from both sides of the debate. Groups that wish to protest about other instances of BBC bias unrelated to the independence debate are also more than welcome to attend.
