We have livestreamed over 1500 events since November 2013 and all for FREE. This is an archive of live videos produced mainly on the livestream.com platform between 2013 and 2021. Our success and continued growth is down to the dedication of our volunteers and the support of our viewers. We continue to cover political, social and cultural events and news stories in Scotland and further afield.

Million Mask March 2015 ( Glasgow ) Greetings citizens of the world and Glasgow, We are Anonymous, and welcome to the 2015 event page for the Million Mask March Glasgow. This event is recognized worldwide as your chance to take a stand against those in power...

FROM ORGANISERS FB PAGE: *** PLEASE NOTE SOME DETAILS MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE OVER THE COMING MONTHS *** Greetings citizens of the world and Glasgow, We are Anonymous, and welcome to the 2015 event page for the Million Mask March Glasgow. This event is recognized worldwide as your chance to take a stand against those in power. The people who cover up their dreadful acts, by using the biased mainstream media to lure us away from the real truths. Who try to take our civil and human rights away, by driving us to poverty and making us ‘less’ than they are. The ones who rule, with no idea of what it’s like to be a ‘common man’. Well we are not less ! And we are more than common ! We are Legion! Anonymous is the answer. We are the fight, fighting back at the oppressors. Anonymous is not about the mask. Anonymous is about the idea. The idea that people like us can unite as one, and fight against the tyranny and oppression of those who have enslaved us and our minds. Anonymous has no leaders and no one in charge. What we have, is a collective of like minded individuals who are fed up fighting for scraps when we can be fighting against the Elite. They do not care for us, so we make them care. We make them listen. We are all one. Stop being angry about being able to do nothing, and join us. Use that anger. Use your voice. A wise man once said 'Like you I was forced to learn that there are those without decency, who must be fought without hesitation, without pity. Your anger gives you great power, if you use it wisely, and do not let it destroy you’ Our belief is that people should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people. At the end of the day they sit in their fancy houses, paid for by us, eating their lavish meals, which you can guarantee having no traces of horse/human meat, and prepared, by us. We are the ones with the real power, and without us the Elite would have NO ONE to rule, therefore would lose. When our eyes open, we see the real potential in ourselves. So do not think that you cannot make a difference. That you cannot change the world for the better. That is what they want you to believe. With the Million Mask March, you have the opportunity to let your voice be heard by the people, and the world ! Join us on the 5th of November, on a March from George Square to Glasgow Green, as we unite with brothers and sisters all over the world, to remind those in power that these streets, are OUR STREETS! We are Anonymous We Are Legion We represent the world We represent the people Expect Us

For an Independent Socialist Scotland An event organised by the Scottish Socialist Party (SSP) in the Royal Overseas League, Edinburgh, to reject "Corbynmania" and "Nicolamania" in the debate on Scottish Independence and ask the question “Where now for the socialist left in Scotland?"

In recent months the Scottish political landscape has been completely transformed. The unexpected election of Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader has led some to conclude that Labour will now move left and promote socialist policies. But this will simply not happen. Jeremy Corbyn is a principled socialist but one who is a prisoner of the Blairite Parliamentary Labour Party. Equally the SNP is not about to move left either. Nicola Sturgeon is no socialist and neither is her party, regardless of her populism. Both Labour and the SNP are neo-liberal parties and both are keen to present their most ‘business friendly’ manifestoes in 2016. The SNP anti-austerity rhetoric does not reflect its actions: they plan £60m of cuts in services in Edinburgh, they have privatised Scotland’s non-domestic water contracts and sold off Edinburgh’s Sick Kids hospital to private companies. The Scottish Socialist Party states that it has not been carried away by “Corbynmania” or “Nicolamania”. They believe in an independent socialist Scotland. And they recognise there are no shortcuts to achieving it. The place for socialists is in a socialist party. There is an article in the National about this event and its timely topic (http://www.thenational.scot/politics/yes-activists-to-call-for-seminar-to-plan-winning-strategy.9520 )

Trade Union Bill Parliamentary Lobby

Lobby and rally, Protect the Right to Strike.Central Hall, Westminster, London. The Trade Union Congress (TUC) and union members from all over the UK are coming together to lobby and rally against the trade union bill currently proposed by the government, which threatens the basic right to strike. This is a big opportunity to make sure MPs hear directly from people who are worried that the bill will undermine the right to strike and risk public safety and service quality. Trade Union representatives will meet up at Central Hall in Westminster to hear some inspirational speakers, and then in groups head off to the House of Commons to meet their MPs and explain why they should vote against the bill. The rally will kick off at 1pm and the lobby at 2.30pm.

Positive Money: Rethinking Our Conceptions of Banking and Money Robert Pallot from Positve Money, will be dispelling popular misconceptions of banks, including the textbook model used by many economists

We're delighted to be hosting Robert Pallot from Positve Money who will be dispelling popular misconceptions of banks, including the textbook model used by many economists and policymakers, and present a more accurate view of banks and money creation. Rob is a recent graduate of Edinburgh University who studied economics with the hope of understanding what caused the financial crisis. Keen to help spread the pluralist word, he also gives tours of Mayfair's hedge funds, with London's Occupy Tours. Join us for what promises to be a very exciting lecture, which will explain: How banks can lend money they do not already have; Why there is no limit to the amount of money banks may choose to create; And the implications for the wider economy. Positive Money is an organisation that campaigns and researches for a money and banking system that works for society and not against it. You can read more here http://positivemoney.org/about/ The lecture is free and open to all!

Hope Over Fear are organizing this 2015 event to coincide with the anniversary of the referendum and to make a clear statement that our journey to full Independence for our nation continues. Our First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon has stated clearly that it will be the people of Scotland who will determine if and when there is an #indyref2. Lets fill Freedom Square and the surrounding streets of Glasgow on September 19th to make our voices heard. 2018 is an ideal year for #indyref2 as it is clear in terms of elections north and south of the border. HOPE OVER FEAR: SEIZE THE DAY RALLY George Square, Glasgow. Lots of great speakers including Mark McGowan, The Artist Taxi Driver plus great music...

The Hope Over Fear campaign will not shirk its responsibilities. On May 7th 2015 we have a unique opportunity in Scotland to wipe out the blue, yellow and red Tories in one fell swoop. We can electorally punish those who lined up with the billionaires and millionaires to lie, deceive and bully our nation into submission. We are not too small, too poor or too scared to move forward into a new and better world and by uniting the pro-Scotland and anti-Establishment vote in May 2015 we can realise our dreams. Bring the family and enjoy another great day out while listening to the speakers from all political backgrounds and on the importance of using your vote wisely at the general election. There will also be many amazingly talented artists and musicians for you to enjoy on the day. In the words of Gerry Cinnamon's inspiring anthem of our movement, "Hope Over Fear, Carpe Diem". Let’s seize the day in 2015. NOTE: Mark McGowan, The Artist Taxi Driver will be one of the speakers :) FACEBOOK EVENT: https://www.facebook.com/events/401561463337441/

BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 Around 1:30 - 3:30pm BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 - The People's Voice!

BBC Bias Peaceful Protest #2 - The People's Voice! Sunday, June 29 at 1:30pm - 3:30pm BBC Scotland Studios, Pacific Quay G51 1 Glasgow, United Kingdom This is a protest against bias from the self-proclaimed “impartial” BBC. The most important issue we need to highlight is the repeated omission of relevant facts, information & answers that has kept Scotland in the dark about the real independence debate. The BBC’s coverage is ruining the run up to the biggest decision in our history. People are suitably sickened by the BBC & other mainstream media and their one sided conveyor belt of scare stories portrayed against our economic prospects, EU membership and the currency of an independent Scotland. Sometimes the bias is not in what they do cover but what they don't cover in their news & current affairs programmes. Specific examples of bias that concerns us are as follows: Make up of Question Time panels. Irish & Luxembourg EU ministers views misrepresented. UKIP promotion during EU elections. University of the West of Scotland report on bias on evening news programmes (BBC & STV) University of the West of Scotland report on bias on Radio Scotland Good Morning Scotland show The BBC's membership of the CBI which opposes independence and even tried to become an official member of the no campaign until a U turn after a mass cancellation of membership by Scottish companies. Different styles of questioning for Yes/No including more frequent interruptions from interviewers. The list goes on… Let's keep up the pressure on the old BBC and arrange their next outing as a massive anti-bias operation! Bring your saltires, banners, balloons, friends, family and loud voices. Make it a day to remember! Everyone is welcome from both sides of the debate. Groups that wish to protest about other instances of BBC bias unrelated to the independence debate are also more than welcome to attend.
